Creating Friendships while Crafting Smiles
I love being an orthodontist! There is simply no other profession that combines science, art, and personal connections. I spend my days interacting with dynamic, incredible people who have made the decision to change their lives … and their smiles!
Time with patients is the best part of my day. I like interacting with each person, learning who they are, and becoming their friends. I love that I work with people over extended periods of time and really get to experience the changes with their smiles and their lives.
Whether I’m working with a child telling me about what’s happening in school, a teen talking about plans for college, or an adult sharing insight into their experiences, my world is enriched. As an orthodontist, I love that no two days are the same, no two people are the same, and no two visits are the same. All the people I see make each day exciting and unique!
The Atlantic Orthodontics Team
I have a team that goes above and beyond to make sure each person and the family has a positive orthodontic experience: with every interaction, each visit, and the finished smile. My team members are all caring and passionate. They are the backbone of the practice and are dedicated to placing each patient’s health and happiness at the forefront of all we do!
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science – University of Florida
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine – Nova Southeastern University
- Certificate in orthodontics and Master of Science – University of Minnesota
I’ve practiced orthodontics since 2007. I chose the orthodontic specialty because it allows me to care for patients in a field that is constantly changing and advancing, and to have a positive impact on people’s health and self-esteem. Now, 15 years in, I can honestly say that I cannot imagine a more professionally or personally rewarding career.
Professional Affiliations and Continuing Education
I am an active member of the:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Southern Association of Orthodontists
- American Dental Association
- Volusia-Flagler County Dental Association
- St. Johns Orthodontic Study Group
These organizations offer numerous continuing educational opportunities throughout the year. By attending meetings and lectures, participating in study groups, and studying the literature, I stay current on the latest treatment advances and technologies.
Beyond the Practice
I grew up just south of here, in Merritt Island, and moved to Ormond Beach in 2007 with my high-school sweetheart and now husband, Jason. We have two wonderful boys, Zorin and Finn, along with two dogs and two cats. Yes, our household tends to be busy — and we love that! Our family loves the outdoors: boating, fishing, mountain biking, and tennis keep us on the go!
